Gogoi’s Pork

Want to get the basic taste of pork , without any spices ? Then Gogoi’s pork is the place for you to be . They have two outlets in Guwahati , out of which we prefer the one in Dispur Supermarket , near the Recipies Restaurant .

First of all they sell raw , smoked and cooked pork . So this is one – of – a – kind pork – shop !! However the special thing about them is the way they procure pork . Their pork comes from the tribal villages of Assam , ensuring that its the most organic pork you will possibly  get in Guwahati . This helps both the rearer to sell his animals at a fair price and the consumers to buy the best quality meat . Gogoi’s Pork also have a Mission Statement to abide to . The stir fried smoked pork is absolutely delicious and their specialty . Also the Smoked Pork with Bamboo Shoot is a must taste .

The ambiance is quite non – existent for Gogoi’s Pork .  The shop itself is very small , with place enough of just 5-6 people to sit . Plus it is on the bank of the big drain running parallel to the G.S. Road in that area . We suggest you to get your food packed , and have it somewhere else .

The service actually doesn’t matter here . The food is mostly self service , over the counter type . This is another reason why we suggest take – away from Gogoi’s Pork .

Gogoi’s Pork mainly serves smoked pork , so do expect it to be a little dry . Any you can buy the half – cooked smoked pork as well , which you can use to make your own dish .

Open During : Gogoi’s Pork is open from about 12 PM to 8 PM . Closed on Sundays and public holidays .
